Popbasic Previews

I’m working on catching up with my backlog of subscription reviews (please forgive me – I’ve been traveling around the world, literally!). In the meantime, here are some previews of upcoming Popbasic collections:

untitled (41 of 210)

The Frankie Collection will be available later this month. It consists of a scarf, a shirt, and a belt.

I have Popbasic’s Le Breton shirt in every color (which is two so far: white/navy and white/red). I will buy it in any color it ever comes out in. It is soft, durable, fits well, and the perfect balance of not sheer but not heavy fabric. So when I saw that they were making a dress, I am not ashamed to admit, I lost my mind a little bit. I. Cannot. Wait. I love the fit on it – a swingy fit and flare – the color, the length, and the 3/4 sleeves, and will be scooping it up as soon as it comes out!

A side note – Popbasic is a little above my price point for clothing (and, I’d imagine, some of yours too). It’s worth the splurge; I promise. Their clothes wear well, wash well, and last forever.

Sizing: I am 155 lbs 34DD/28/38. A medium in Popbasic fits me well.

Referrals: I will receive a $15 credit if you make a purchase using my Popbasic link.

Sneak Peek: Popbasic Jane Collection

I am digging Popbasic’s upcoming Jane Collection, available July 1st.

They had me at pink…

… and at delicate gold jewelry.

No word on cost yet, but you will be able to buy each clothing piece in individual sizes, and shipping is free worldwide. I’ve been thrilled with the quality of their clothing, and their rapid and friendly customer service.

Also, their popular Le Breton top is available for pre-order in red on July 8th. I can’t wait for my black-and-white one to arrive!

I spy a Korean beauty product! Could this be a surprise bonus?

Sneak Peek: Popbasic June 2014

Is it just me or is that a TonyMoly Bunny Gloss Bar? Just when I thought I couldn’t love Popbasic any more, they go and feed my addiction to all things Korean…

Maddy from Popbasic gave me a preview of their Le Breton top in red. I ordered one in black this month and with all the rave reviews it already has, no doubt I’ll be picking it up on red too. I’d love to pair it with skinny jeans, wedges, and a red lip, though maybe I’ll just settle for a red VW bug:

Coming in June is their Paloma Collection:

In Seattle, we can get away with scarves year-round. This Grey Striped Infinity Scarf is perfect for pairing with dresses or t-shirts.

Speaking of t-shirts, the Paloma Collection includes a Basic White Tee. I wear white tees until there are holes in them, so goodness knows I could use a new one. Popbasic’s tops are soft and durable, so I’ll get quite a few wears out of it until that happens!

I love the contrast of grey with the rose gold zipper on this pouch. I’m a little disappointed that it’s leather; I really prefer to stay away from it, and they did such a good job with their vegan leather skirt last month, I’d love to see more pieces in that same material. Though with the quality of Popbasic and their fabulous style, I may just pick up the Paloma Collection and find a good home for the pouch!

Referrals: You and I both receive a $15 credit if you make a purchase through my Popbasic link.

Popbasic: The Ashbury Collection Review

Popbasic creates monthly clothing “microcollections” (outfits) available for $50-100 a month. It’s not a subscription service: instead you sign up to be e-mailed when a new microcollection is released. It’s a one-time purchase and you’re not locked into any monthly fees. Shipping is free and there are no hidden fees.

Maddy from Popbasic kindly sent me the Ashbury Collection to review.

The box came with a style card, care instructions for the skirt, a tights coupon code, and a nice note from Maddy.

It also came with a bunch of artistically packaged perfume samples with an informative scent guide. I’m excited to try these!

The Ashbury Collection consists of a black tank (my camera makes it look navy here), vegan leather skirt, and collar necklace. I received the clothing in a small. The necklace is one size. The tank is buttery soft and I love that the skirt is vegan!

When I first saw the collection, I thought “Audrey Hepburn.” I tried to recreate a little of her style here.

I think a punk vibe is a little more me.

Here I paired it with a Le Tote tank for those warmer spring days.

The Seattle weather is still fairly cool, so I could get away with wearing this.

Professional, with a pop of red.

Verdict: Styling this collection pushed me out of my comfort zone (which is girly dresses, bright colors, and pops of nerdiness!). It strikes me as more fall weather fashion than summer’s just around the corner. However, with the quality of clothing, the price is a steal. And it runs large; wearing smalls makes me very happy! I looked at their other collections and the brighter colors and feminine dresses make those much more up my alley. I will definitely be keeping an eye on their site for pretty summer dresses with simple gold jewelry.
Edit: I just e-mailed customer service at 9 PM on a Monday. Maddy replied within minutes. Wow!

Sizing: I am 5’4″, 155 lbs, 34DD/28/38. The one size necklace fit well with room to tighten or loosen. The tank fit perfectly in a small. I would size up to a medium in the skirt; it was a little tight in the waist. I checked their site and you can buy the clothing pieces in individual sizes.

Links: You and I will each receive a $15 credit if you sign up for Popbasic. I will receive a $25 credit if you sign up for Le Tote.
